I’ve had over 10 years experience in startup eco-system and I found that Spiralation definitely add lot of value to the startup eco-system. I have been benefited by investing in Spiralation companies, and probably my most successful companies inspired Spiralation graduates.
The inspiration, mentorship, knowledge, and networking that I gained through the Spiralation program is priceless. I am a strong believer that Sri Lanka need more entrepreneurs in order push our country and economy. Entrepreneurship is non-other than an attitude or the mindset. I see this Spiralation program as an entrepreneur mind-setter which is actually a critical need for a country to make more entrepreneurs.
I actually started as one of the first Spiralation companies about 9 years ago, and got lot of learnings. Spiralation gave me a lot of insights because there was a demanding 6 month training program where we got mentors and all of that. It was not so much about the money, but learnings in terms of how to start a company, legal framework, technical things and mentors were able to guide us how to do the solution, that was very useful
I am really proud to say that we are a part of the output of Spiralation program, and it gave us confidence, guidance and mentorship which was really required at that time.
Through Spiralation we were able to go beyond Sri Lanka, exhibit our solutions in many countries in Europe, Australia as well as south Asian countries. It gave us lot of opportunity to network among other startups in the region. Spiralation also gave us lot of credibility, in terms of pitching ourselves to public sector organizations as we had been gone through a proper validation process before selecting to become a member of Spiralation.

Plastic waste has become a deadly threat to our environment. In Sri Lanka, its mismanagement has led to polluted waterways, blocked drains, and even the spread of diseases such as dengue. Unfortunately, only 30% of Sri Lanka’s plastic waste is collected and even less recycled. Seeing the crisis unfolding in front of us, Price Ur Plastic aims to solve it by literally paying you for your trash.
